This year we attended the AQUASUR fair to explore the range of solutions present at the expo associated with packaging and packaging equipment, in addition to planning our potential participation in the next edition.
Our first impression, upon arriving at the venue, was the chaos in the parking lot: I think we were several blocks or even a couple of kilometers away from the expo, which also complicated our subsequent exit. Already inside, many stands were extremely small, I think it was impossible to carry out any commercial management or meeting adequately or with any comfort. Likewise, the access streets were congested, which made mobility among the crowd extremely difficult, a very unpleasant issue.
Looking at our search, we only found three packaging and processing equipment suppliers. Most of the exhibitors were focused on the pre-harvest stage, such as cages, meshes and submersion robots and dozens of others but as indicated, everything focused on when the fish is still in the water.
This situation has two interpretations for us: on the one hand, the limited supply in our sector can be an opportunity to present innovative solutions in future editions. On the other hand, the low presence could be due to previous results of the operators in previous years that were not positive and were lowered. We will analyze these aspects to decide our participation in the future.
In summary, a lot of calls, a lot, I would say, this is a success in the sale but the organization leaves a lot to review.
